Article 115 of the same law states that if an individual commits arson, causes water damage, explosions, poisoning, or other severe actions that lead to serious injuries, deaths, or significant property damage, they may face more than ten years in prison, life imprisonment, or even the death penalty. If the offense is less severe, the punishment may be reduced to a minimum of three years. This emphasizes the severity of such crimes against public safety.

If you detect a gas leak, immediately turn off the gas source and open windows for ventilation. If a gas tank catches fire, cover the flame with a wet blanket or clothing and quickly close the valve. Never attempt to move the tank while it is burning, as this can cause further danger. Always seek professional help when dealing with gas-related emergencies.

Before leaving home or going to bed, ensure that all electrical devices are turned off, gas valves are closed, and any open flames are extinguished. These simple habits can significantly reduce the risk of accidents at home.

Smoking-related fires account for a significant number of annual incidents. On average, 14 fires per year are caused by smoking, making it the leading cause of accidental fires. Avoid littering cigarette butts, never smoke in bed, and do not smoke in flammable or explosive environments.

If an electrical appliance or wiring catches fire, first cut off the power supply before attempting to extinguish the fire. Use a dry powder or carbon dioxide fire extinguisher, and never use water, as it can cause electric shocks or further damage.

If a pan catches fire, do not pour water onto it. Instead, turn off the gas supply and cover the pan with a lid or a wet cloth to smother the flames. You can also add chopped vegetables to the pan to help cool it down and stop the fire.

If you discover a fire, call 119 immediately. When reporting, provide the full address, location of the fire, type of material involved, size of the fire, and your name and phone number. Wait at a crossroads to guide the firefighters to the scene.
