Problems to be Noted When Using High-alumina Cement

【China Aluminum Industry Network】 (1) The suitable hardening temperature is about 15°C. In general, the ambient temperature during construction must not exceed 25°C. Otherwise, crystal transformation will occur and the strength will decrease. Concrete made of high alumina cement cannot be steam cured. (2) It is strictly forbidden that high-alumina cement is mixed with Portland cement or lime, and it must not be in contact with Portland cement concrete that has not been hardened. Otherwise, instantaneous condensation will occur, and construction will fail, and the strength will be low. (3) The long-term strength of high-alumina cement has a tendency to decrease due to crystal transformation and aging of aluminate gels. If it is required to be used in a project, the design should be based on a lower stable strength. The value is determined by tests according to GB201-2000.
