Preparation of calcium carbonate filled masterbatch

(1) Composition of the Masterbatch (by mass)
Carrier resin: Polypropylene (PP) – 50 parts
Filler core: 500 mesh calcium carbonate – 50 parts
Coupling agent: Aluminate DL-411 – 0.5 parts

Dispersant: Stearic acid – 2.5 parts

Polyethylene wax – 0.5 parts
(2) Preparation Process of the Masterbatch

The process begins by adding the carrier resin PP, along with 50 kg of pre-treated calcium carbonate (treated with aluminate coupling agent), 2.5 kg of stearic acid, and 0.5 kg of polyethylene wax into a high-speed mixer. The mixture is then thoroughly kneaded for approximately 5 minutes to ensure even dispersion. Afterward, the blended material is transferred to an extrusion machine where it is melted and extruded into strands. These strands are cooled, cut into pellets, and finally packaged as the final masterbatch product. This method ensures optimal compatibility between the filler and the polymer matrix, enhancing the overall performance and processability of the compound.
