An Introduction to Large Pump Station Storage Pump Sets
Pump stations play a crucial role in providing a specific pressure and flow of hydraulic power for plants and engineering projects. They are essential in both pumping and drainage systems. The core components include the fuel tank, motor, and pump, but various auxiliary devices may also be added based on requirements, such as oil supply systems, compressed air systems, water-filling equipment, water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, and lifting mechanisms.
Firstly, let’s discuss the overview of the storage pump. A typical storage pump station has a water collection pit where water and sealing fluid are gathered before being pumped into the front pool. Each sump contains two pumps, one of which serves as a backup. The control system for the storage pump comprises a level switch, control box, and a level alarm device. The sump level is monitored by four liquid level switches. Two of these switches manage the high and low levels to turn the pumps on and off, while the other two monitor high and low-level alarms. The alarm levels are displayed in the control room of the pumping station. The control box is placed near the sump and features a manual/automatic switch. In automatic mode, the pump operates based on the liquid level readings. Manual operation allows for pump start-stop control via a button. Additionally, the control box displays the operational status of the pump and provides high/low level alarms with indicators and an audible alert in the control room.
Secondly, the structure of the storage pump deserves attention. The storage pump uses the WQ series submersible sewage pump, designed to handle media temperatures up to 60°C, densities ≤1200 kg/m³, and pH values between 5 and 9. It operates at a rated voltage of 380V and a frequency of 50Hz, with a voltage and frequency deviation of less than ±5%. The pump can effectively pass solid particles with a diameter no larger than 50% of the pump's outlet diameter. From the pump inlet perspective, the impeller rotates counterclockwise. Structurally, the submersible pump consists of the pump body, impeller, motor, bearings, shaft, sealing ring, oil plug, cooling cylinder, wiring cavity, mechanical seals on the motor and pump sides, upper and lower leakage probes, and a monitoring system.
Small Hardware and Electrical Network would like to share this detailed introduction with everyone. This comprehensive overview ensures that operators understand the importance of storage pumps in various applications, helping them maintain efficiency and reliability in their operations.
