Field research Wuhan laser enterprise

According to reports, Ye Mao, deputy director of the Industrial Technology Analysis Center at the Wuhan Branch of the National Science Library, led a research team to visit Jinyun Laser and Solidarity Laser. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the development strategies, technology transfer pathways, and overseas market expansion plans of these two leading laser companies. The discussions also focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the laser industry in Hubei Province. Ai Jun, Chairman of Jinyun Laser, and Feng Xun, Deputy General Manager of Solidarity Laser, welcomed the team personally.

As one of the two major laser-listed companies in Wuhan, Jinyun Laser specializes in providing medium and low-power laser processing solutions. After years of continuous innovation, the company has grown into a globally recognized manufacturer of laser cutting machines, fiber laser cutting systems, metal cutters, fabric cutters, leather cutters, and acrylic cutters. Its products are now sold in over 100 countries worldwide. In particular, Jinyun Laser has become the leading brand in China for laser applications in the textile and garment industry.

Ai Jun emphasized that currently, only about 3% of the textile market uses laser technology, but there is still significant room for growth in the future. Traditional laser application areas also have vast potential. Moreover, emerging fields such as environmental protection, modern agriculture, and healthcare offer numerous entry points for the laser industry.

Feng Xun, Deputy General Manager of Solidarity Laser, also addressed questions regarding the development direction of high-power CO₂ lasers and the company’s overseas expansion strategy. He mentioned that Solidarity Laser will engage in comprehensive cooperation with Russia in the fields of processing, equipment, and technology. This year, the company plans to sign a cooperation framework agreement with a local firm under Yekaterinburg Investment Holding Branch. A joint venture called "Ural Laser Technology Co., Ltd." will be established with an investment of $3 million, where Solidarity Laser will hold 51% and the Russian partner 49%. The new company will focus on assembling, selling, and processing laser equipment, aiming to become a top player in the Russian laser processing sector. Over the next three years, Solidarity Laser plans to establish nearly 100 laser processing chain institutions through mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, further expanding its presence in the downstream of the laser industry chain.

Since its founding, the Wuhan Industrial Technology Analysis Center has been deeply rooted in the Optics Valley of Wuhan, continuously tracking domestic and international trends in the laser industry. It has built strong relationships with the Wuhan Donghu High-tech Development Zone government, the China Optics Valley Laser Industry Association, and various laser enterprises. The center provides comprehensive information consultation and industrial technology analysis services. The recent survey helped strengthen exchanges and mutual trust between the parties. Both sides agreed that the development of the laser industry still requires more efforts to innovate in the downstream of the industrial chain and to expand application fields. Feng Xun hopes that the Wuhan Branch of the Industrial Technology Analysis Center will continue to transfer advanced technological information and industrial analysis theories to laser companies, contributing to the growth of China's Optics Valley and the broader development of Hubei's laser industry.
