Excavator hydraulic crushing pliers installation operation guide

Installing crushing clamps on an excavator is a common task, but there are several important steps you should take beforehand to avoid potential issues. One of the most critical aspects is ensuring that the breaker's pipeline is completely clean. If there are any impurities or dirt present, they could end up inside the crushing pliers clamp, potentially damaging components like the piston, oil cylinder, and reversing valve. These parts are precision-matched, so even small particles can lead to significant wear and tear. Before beginning installation, here’s how you can prepare the breaker pipeline: 1. Start by shutting off the breaker pipeline Valves located on either side of the excavator arm. Next, have the operator activate the excavator while keeping the accelerator in the middle range. Press the breaker hammer foot switch in the cab intermittently—press for about a minute, release for a minute, and repeat this cycle for 3 to 5 minutes. During this process, use a wrench to slowly open the oil inlet shut-off valve on the arm. Be cautious when doing this; it’s recommended to stand behind the valve to avoid injury from high-pressure oil. Initially, you’ll see a spray of dirty oil, which is normal as it flushes out contaminants mixed with hydraulic fluid. Continue until the hydraulic oil runs clear. If necessary, repeat this process with the return valve on the opposite side. Ensure the oil is clean before moving forward. 2. With the pipeline now mostly clear, reinforce the cleaning process to guarantee no residual impurities remain. Use a hose provided by the breaker manufacturer to connect the oil lines at both ends of the arm in series, opening both shut-off valves. Keep the excavator running and continue pressing the breaker valve intermittently—about 1 minute on, 5 seconds off—for 3 to 5 minutes. Then shut the valves. This thorough flushing ensures all debris is removed. Afterward, the excavator’s filter will catch any remaining particles during regular operation. Finally, install the two-way pedal valve and proceed with confidence. 3. Once these preparatory steps are complete, attach the breaker hammer oil line to the excavator. Before using the crushing pliers, verify that the hydraulic pressure matches the specifications for your chosen model. Apply grease regularly to the lower cylinder’s butter mouth, hammering for around 2 to 3 hours daily and applying grease every few hits. A good rule is to pump the grease gun 15 times each session. By following these steps, you can significantly reduce the risk of damage and ensure smooth operation of your crushing pliers. Proper maintenance not only prolongs the life of your equipment but also enhances its efficiency.
