Metal halide lamps (high-strength UV halogen lamps) are often called iron lamps. The highest peak of a typical mercury UV lamp is 365 nm, which is not suitable for some new inks and special applications requiring 380 nm and 403 nm. These new highest peaks (380 hm, 403 nm) can be produced by metal halide lamps, metal halide lamps and mercury blends containing mercury and argon, with iron blending, potassium blending or other rare earth metal blends. Iron-blended halogen lamps have particularly enhanced 380 hm as the highest peak. The potassium-doped halogen lamp particularly enhances the peaks at 403 nm and 417 nm.
Metal halide lamps are mainly used for curing UV inks, UV paints, dry films, wet films, and green solder masks. Coloring in screen printing and curing, especially for thicker coatings and white, black drying has outstanding effects.
