Raw coal production accelerated, coal imports fell significantly, prices fell
In April, raw coal production increased by 4.1% year-on-year, 2.8 percentage points faster than last month. From January to April, the output of raw coal was 1.10 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%.
Coal imports have fallen sharply. In April, imported coal was 22.28 million tons, down 10.1% year-on-year. From January to April, the import of coal was 97.68 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%.
Coal prices have fallen. As of the end of April, Qinhuangdao 5500 kcal coal closing price was 587 yuan per ton, down 20 yuan from the end of March; 5,000 kcal per ton 529 yuan, down 35 yuan; 4,500 kcal per ton 457 yuan, down 34 yuan.
Crude oil production is generally stable, and imports are growing rapidly
It is reported that in April, crude oil production was 15.51 million tons, down 2.3% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month; the average daily output was 517,000 tons, an increase of 2 million tons from the previous month. From January to April, crude oil output was 62.25 million tons, down 2.1% year-on-year, and the decline was 0.1 percentage points higher than that in January-March.
In April, crude oil imports increased sharply, with an import of 39.46 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%. The growth rate was 14.1 percentage points higher than that of the previous month; the daily average import was 1.315 million tons, a record high. From January to April, imported crude oil was 150 million tons, up 8.9% year-on-year.
Affected by geopolitical factors, crude oil prices continued to rise, and the spot price of Brent crude oil hit its highest level since 2015. As of April 30, the price was $75.92 per barrel, up $6.90 per barrel from the end of March. Under this pull, the retail price of domestic refined oil products has also increased significantly.
Accelerated growth in crude oil processing
Affected by multiple factors such as the suspension of production and maintenance of large petrochemical enterprises in the same period last year, and the sharp increase in crude oil import quotas and refined oil export quotas this year, crude oil processing volume has grown rapidly. In April, crude oil processing volume was 49.58 million tons, up 11.5% year-on-year, 3.2 percentage points faster than last month; daily average processing was 1.653 million tons, down 0.9 million tons from the previous month.
From January to April, the crude oil processing volume was 19912 million tons, an increase of 9.1% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 1.6 percentage points faster than that in January-March. Among the main refined oil products, the output of gasoline, kerosene and diesel increased by 7.2%, 12.8% and 2.2% respectively, and the growth rate accelerated by 1.4, 1.9 and 0.2 percentage points respectively.
Natural gas production grows faster, and imports maintain high growth
In April, natural gas production remained at a high level, with a production of 12.89 billion cubic meters, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year. The growth rate was 5.9 percentage points higher than that of the previous month; the average daily production was 430 million cubic meters, a decrease of 0.1 billion cubic meters from the previous month.
From January to April, natural gas production was 52.63 billion cubic meters, up 4.0% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 0.7 percentage points faster than that in January-March.
Natural gas imports have maintained a high growth rate of more than 30% for seven consecutive months. In April, natural gas imports were 6.82 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.2%, and the growth rate dropped by 5 percentage points from the previous month. From January to April, the import of natural gas was 27.42 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 36.4%.
Electricity production has accelerated
In April, affected by the increased demand for electricity, power production accelerated significantly, generating 510.78 billion kWh of electricity, up 6.9% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 4.8 percentage points higher than that of the previous month. From January to April, power generation increased by 7.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 0.3 percentage points from January to March.
In terms of varieties, the growth rate of thermal power increased, and the decline in hydropower narrowed. In April, thermal power increased by 7.3%, the growth rate accelerated by 5.9 percentage points compared with the previous month; hydropower decreased by 2.6%, the decline narrowed by 2.7 percentage points; nuclear power increased by 6.5%, accelerated by 4.8 percentage points; wind power and solar power generation maintained double-digit growth. , increased by 22.6% and 26.4% respectively.
From the structure point of view, the proportion of thermal power and hydropower decreased, and the proportion of new energy power generation such as nuclear power, wind power and solar power generation increased.
