Liu Hanyuan: Sichuan PV industry has comparative advantages in the country

Liu Hanyuan, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Tongwei Group's Board of Directors, entered the living room of the Evening Press and disclosed four proposals he would submit at the Fourth Session of the Eleventh National People's Political Consultative Conference, "accelerating the development of new energy industries and supporting the peaceful rise of our country" and "speeding up rural areas." Urbanization construction, promoting the overall development of urban and rural areas ""Guide the consumption concept to change the consumption model, promote the transformation of China's economic upgrading" ""Strengthening China's quality as a national strategy and incorporate it into the '12th Five-Year Plan'".

About the photovoltaic industry

Pollution "hat" is a misunderstanding

Reporter : Some experts believe that the production of polysilicon by the photovoltaic industry is a high-energy-consuming, high-pollution, “green industry” that develops under the banner of environmental protection. What do you think?

Liu Hanyuan : China began to catch up with polysilicon production from the 1970s onwards. Due to the complexity of polysilicon production technology, the level of industrial chemicals has not reached a certain level, most production is difficult to achieve full closed loop operation, there is a gas, liquid, etc. Emissions. Coupled with the rise in polysilicon prices in the past few years, many projects have been implemented across the country, and there has been no overall treatment of waste water and exhaust gas emissions. Giving pollution to the photovoltaic industry as a "hat" is a misunderstanding in a certain historical period.

Reporter : Leshan is a major producer of polysilicon. Some time ago Tongwei's project in Leshan had some problems. Can you tell us about Sichuan's development direction in the new energy industry during the 12th Five-Year Plan period?

Liu Hanyuan : Sichuan has comparative advantages in the development of polysilicon and photovoltaic industries in the country and is one of the three major polysilicon producing areas in China. The governments of Sichuan, Chengdu and Leshan must support and nurture the photovoltaic industry in terms of systems and policies to form a national comparative advantage. Ganzi, Aba, Liangshan and other areas are rich in sunlight resources and can develop applications in the photovoltaic industry to balance the unbalanced power in the Sichuan dry season.

About the "Energy Revolution"

Study with children's thoughts

Reporter : Yesterday many reporters got your new book "Energy Revolution Changes the 21st Century." Why did you write such a book?

Liu Hanyuan : This book is my co-author with Liu Jiansheng, director of Southwest University of Finance and Economics Research Institute. I am mainly responsible for writing comparative studies and quantitative analysis of various energy sources. Now the company is working on research that will convert algae into food. "I think it is a fairy-tale world of birds and flowers. I would not dare to study this matter without a little child."
