Jiangsu successfully developed wind power desalination technology

The standard of desalinated seawater can reach pure water, and the purity of hydrogen production can reach 99.99%. The two high-tech projects using wind power are from a Nanjing company. It is reported that this project is also the first non-grid-connected wind power diversification application in China and the “China-Canada Government International Science and Technology Cooperation Project”, presided over by Gu Weidong, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Macroeconomic Research Institute. At present, the daily output of 100 tons of freshwater wind power seawater desalination unit and the daily production of 120 cubic meters of hydrogen wind power generation hydrogen system have been built in Yancheng City along the coast of our province.

Wind power is not as effective as net

The annual wind speed of the Jiangsu coast is maintained at 7-8 meters per second. Some experts have calculated that over 10 million kilowatts of offshore wind farms can be built on the Jiangsu coast. However, wind power grid-connected power generation is still difficult to achieve. Therefore, many people refer to wind power generation as "garbage electricity."

Gu Weidong has chosen another path for wind power applications - non-grid-connected wind power. “Wind power does not enter the grid, but is directly applied to the industry on the spot, and is directly transported to high-energy-carrying enterprises. For example, an annual output of 100,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum can be used to build a 500,000-kilowatt wind farm directly.” For 26 years, it was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in July 2007 and became the only wind power project in the energy sector in the national key basic research and development program (973 program).

Behind this project is a strong lineup of 3 academicians, 4 key laboratories, 5 units and 68 academic backbones, and more than 100 researchers. In September last year, the project finally achieved its transformation in Nanjing, and a high-tech enterprise was registered and established in the World Window Business Park in Gulou District. This scientific research achievement also made China's non-grid-connected wind power basic theoretical research reach the international advanced level.

Dilution of seawater costs 3 yuan per ton

Close to the water, the first time to get the moon, this non-connected wind power technology was first used in desalination.

In February of this year, Gu Weidong led the team members to raise their glasses in the wind at the Yancheng seaside. What they drunk at the end of the day was the sea water that had been reduced to meet the national standard of pure water. “Our independent research and development and manufacturing of this seawater desalination plant has reduced the cost of offshore wind farms by 25% to 35%, while the efficiency of wind power utilization has increased by 10% to 15%, and the comprehensive cost per ton of water is only around 3 yuan. The overall power consumption is less than 3 degrees." Gu Weidong said that this technology is expected to solve the problem of China's ultra-large-scale desalination.

Will be applied in a wider range

Desalination of seawater, large-scale hydrogen production, wind power pumping, and chlor-alkali industry... Gu Dongdong thinks that industries suitable for wind power can be found everywhere. "The power supply system we researched and developed, the wind power network is not connected to the grid, and 100% energy conversion can be realized. Furthermore, a number of new technologies, such as wind power efficient intelligent buffering and wind grid complementary, have been applied to ensure the stability and reliability of the operation. While also saving costs."

According to reports, in the future, non-grid-connected wind power will be more widely used, such as for urban heating and cooling, electric vehicles, and green mining. Gu Weidong said: “We are cooperating with a new energy automobile company in the province and plan to build a demonstration project for wind power vehicles in the first half of this year. In addition, our wind power pumping technology is quite mature and we have started demonstrations in Daqing Oilfield and Liaohe Oilfield. Application: At present, the proportion of wind power supply exceeds 65%, and energy-saving and emission-reduction effects are significant.
